DataRill SP, Banja Luka, Bosnia and Herzegovina, is the data controller for this site and the application - meaning we are the ones who decide what personal data is collected here and why, and the ones you hold to it. Write to hello@sheetvideo.com.

The short version

Your recordings never leave your computer - they are read and exported there. If you have an account, your projects are kept with it - the score, the sync, the look, your clips and the list of your exports, so they are there on any machine you sign in on - and we keep a note of the shape of each export you make, which is how the free length limit gets set honestly. There is no advertising and no cross-site ad tracking. We use four analytics tools - Vercel Web Analytics, which is cookieless and counts page views without identifying you; Mixpanel, which we use for a short, named list of product events (see below) with session recording and autocapture switched off; and Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity, which set cookies and, in the EU, the UK and Switzerland, only do so if you allow it - to see which parts of SheetVideo get used, where people get stuck, and where the free plan's limits actually bite.

What the application sends

  • Your sign-in, if you have an account. Email and password go to Supabase, who host authentication for us, and the app holds the resulting session so you stay signed in.
  • A subscription check. While you are signed in the app asks our server whether your subscription is current - on start, every few minutes, and whenever an export begins. That request carries your session and nothing else.
  • Your projects, if you have an account. The score, the sync, the look and the clip list of each project, the names of its video and of the files you exported, and a small still frame from the video for your project list. Stored with Supabase. Deleting a project deletes it.
  • A note of each export, if you have an account. How long it was, its size and shape, which view it used, whether it was a free or a Pro export, and whether the free length limit stopped it. That is how we know where to set that limit. No title, no file name, no frame of the video.
  • Product analytics. The app sends Mixpanel a short, named list of events - a project was created, a score was imported, an alignment finished, an export completed, a free-plan limit was hit, a checkout was started - each with a few technical details (file type, view chosen, export duration, whether it was free or Pro). If you have an account these are tied to its id, so we can see one account's journey through the app; never your email, your file names, or anything from inside your project. Mixpanel is hosted in the EU, and its session-recording and autocapture features are off.
  • Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity. The same page views, visits and session recordings the website sends (see below), on the application's pages too, under the same cookie choice. A recording shows the page as you used it - never your video, and never what you type into a form.
  • Nothing else. No recordings, no exported videos, no crash reports, no advertising trackers. Your videos and your exported files stay on your disk.

What the application stores on your machine

In the browser: your settings, your session if you are signed in, a copy of your projects (all of them, if you have no account - that is where a guest’s work lives), and permission handles that let SheetVideo find your video again. Clearing the site’s data in your browser removes them. The earlier desktop version keeps your session encrypted by the operating system instead.

What this website collects

The site has no advertising and no advertising cookies. It uses Vercel Web Analytics, which counts page views and where visitors came from without cookies or anything that identifies you individually, and Mixpanel, EU-hosted, for a couple of named events - a landing page view, and a click on the main “Start a project” / “Open SheetVideo” / “Get Pro” buttons - tagged with which button and page, and the campaign or referrer that brought you here, if any. The free tools keep a note of each conversion, with us and in Mixpanel: which tool, the kind and size of the file, how many pages, bars and notes were read, the program that made a PDF and the fonts it is set in, how long it took, and the error if it failed. That is how we find the files the tools cannot read yet. Never the file itself, its name, its title or anything written in it, and not who sent it: your file stays on your computer. The one exception is yours to make: when a tool cannot read a file, it offers to send that file (or the first page of a PDF) to us so we can make the reader read it. Nothing goes without your click on that button. A file sent this way is kept with Supabase and used only to improve and test the reader - never published, never passed on - and deleted after two years at most, or sooner when you ask. If you then leave an email address, we use it to write to you once, when your file reads, and for nothing else; it is deleted with the file. Signing in stores a session in your browser so you stay signed in. The web host keeps standard server logs, which include IP addresses, for security and troubleshooting.

Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity and cookies

The website and the application also use Google Analytics, provided by Google Ireland Ltd. (Google LLC outside Europe), to count visits and see which pages people find and use. It records the pages you view, how you arrived (referrer and campaign), your browser, device and approximate location (Google does not store full IP addresses), and sets first-party cookies (_ga, _ga_*) that last up to two years so that repeat visits can be told apart. It is never used for advertising, and the advertising and personalisation features are switched off. Google processes this data for us and may transfer it to the United States, covered by the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and standard contractual clauses.

We also use Microsoft Clarity, provided by Microsoft Corporation, to see how pages are used: it records clicks, scrolling and mouse movement, and makes heatmaps and replays of visits from them, along with your browser, device and approximate location. Text you type into forms is masked before it leaves your browser, and your video and files are never part of a recording. Clarity sets first-party cookies (_clck, _clsk) that last up to a year, and Microsoft's own cookies on clarity.ms. It is not used for advertising. Microsoft processes this data for us and may transfer it to the United States, covered by the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and standard contractual clauses; see the Microsoft privacy statement.

If you visit from the EU, the UK or Switzerland, these cookies are only set if you allow them; we rely on your consent for this, and until you give it Google and Microsoft receive only cookieless signals that carry no identifier. Elsewhere, we rely on our legitimate interest in understanding how the site is used. Either way you can change your mind at any time: . You can also block or delete cookies in your browser, or use Google's opt-out add-on. Your choice itself is remembered in your browser's local storage. Apart from these, the site sets no cookies; signing in keeps its session in local storage, which is necessary for the service to work.

Who processes what

  • Supabase - accounts, sign-in, your projects, the subscription record, the export notes, the free tools' conversion notes and any file you chose to send us.
  • Dodo Payments - the payment, the invoice and VAT, as merchant of record.
  • Vercel - hosting, and cookieless page-view analytics.
  • Mixpanel - the product analytics events described above, hosted in the EU.
  • Google - Google Analytics, as described above.
  • Microsoft - Clarity heatmaps and session recordings, as described above.

Payments

Checkout happens on Dodo Payments, who are the merchant of record and the data controller for the payment. They collect your name, email, billing country and payment details in order to take the payment and issue an invoice; we never see your card details. We receive your email address, the subscription's status and when it renews, which is what switches Pro on for your account.

Your rights

You can ask what we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, object to its use, or withdraw a consent you gave, by writing to hello@sheetvideo.com - that reaches DataRill SP, Banja Luka, Bosnia and Herzegovina. For anything relating to a payment, Dodo Payments is the right controller to ask, since they take it and hold the card details. If you are in the EU or the UK and think we have mishandled your data, you can also complain to the data protection authority where you live.
